Crews responded quickly to a house fire in Douglass Township this afternoon. Companies were dispatched shortly after 1500 (3pm) this afternoon to the 400 block of Old Philadelphia Pike for a report of smoke coming from a house. Chief 49 arrived and confirmed a working fire. Within minutes 3 departments arrived almost simultaneously (Monarch, Pottstown and Amity)and held the fire to an exterior wall. Minimal damage was sustained to the residence. The fire is being investigated by the Pennsylvania State Police Fire Marshal.
